This is my baby cousin Ollie. He is 18 months old . My Uncle John and Aunt Melissa had him a little less than two years ago. The first time I met him I could tell he was a happy baby. He never stops moving and walks around waving "hi" to people. When they do not wave back he gets confused. This kid means a lot to me because he is family. I love making him laugh and hanging out with him. This photo was taken in Palm Springs, California over winter break. He is walking in his Christmas PJs, laughing, and pushing his toy car. It was a very sunny morning and was perfect weather for a solid picture. It was hard to capture a picture of him because he wouldn’t stop moving. So I got some action shots of him walking around. By taking this portrait I learned that taking photos of young children is very hard because all they want to do is move around. In the end, I like the action shot of him moving because it is not staged, shows what he looks like, and what he enjoys doing. While taking this photo I used the rule of thirds to position him in the middle of the frame so he is the focal point. I believe I achieved that because if someone were to look at this picture they would see Ollie first and would focus on him and not the background.
